CoastLine Book

published by Nomad Letterpress

My first book Coastline…

chronicles a two-week trip down California's iconic Pacific Coast Highway between the cities of San Francisco and Los Angeles.

In the Autumn of 2016, my husband Luke and I decided to hit the road in California with a simple plan - to follow the highway south. For ten days we travelled along the rugged coastline of Big Sur, through the rolling hills of San Simeon, and settled under the swaying palm trees of Venice Beach. I didn’t anticipate becoming so enchanted by it all and couldn’t resist documenting along the way.

Coastline includes fifty linocut engravings and pochoir illustrations which draw inspiration from the autumnal coastal plant life and dazzling ocean views, and are accompanied by my travel diary. The book is a celebration of a beautiful landscape and a tribute to that time travelling down the California coast.

Coastline is published by Nomad Letterpress, based at the Whittington Press, UK. Each piece of artwork was printed from the original engravings on beautiful heavy-weight Zerkall paper and the text is letterpress printed, set in 12pt Walbaum. Every book has been bound by Roger Grech of Papercut Bindery, covered in a natural Japanese book cloth and are contained within a slipcase.
